Physiotherapy

The purpose of Physiotherapy is to restore and maintain mobility, function, independence and performance. Cases often treated by veterinary physiotherapists are; spinal problems, joint problems, injuries, neurological conditions, sports injuries and post surgical rehabilitation.

Physiotherapy may include: manipulation, soft tissue massage and mobilisation, electrotherapy (laser, TENS, magnetic field therapy, neuromuscular stimulation and ultrasound), myofascial release, trigger point therapy, functional exercises and client education. Your dog may have been referred to our physiotherapist by your vet for physiotherapy, for a pre-hydrotherapy assessment, for a post-hydrotherapy assessment, or for all of the above.

Treatment by our physiotherapist is often covered by pet insurance. Our physiotherapist (Jacqueline Grant MSc (Vet Phys) MCSP) is ACPAT registered, as we believe that only the highest trained and qualified people would be involved in the treatment of your pet. ACPAT members are fully qualified Chartered Physiotherapists (MCSP’s) who have trained in physiotherapy and rehabilitation for animals.
